Guiding Service

My guiding services are now available to assist fly fishermen on both game and coarse rivers. I'd be happy to advise and arrange your special day anywhere from one of Derbyshires finest trout and grayling rivers to your own local coarse river. Email Mick Martin for details and options. Foremark

Sunday 27th March was the REF Foremark Bank Social and as usual it was an epic day in buzzer heaven with the rainbows patrolling the margins the bank fishing is supreme,as good as it gets with a bonus of not needing a boat as a real bonus.

My first couple of hours was spent helping out inexperienced members to ensure all have a good enjoyable days fishing before throwing a line myself inbetween the Squire(Nice Chap) off the Fly Forums and our own Alan Booth who'd started hitting the fish already. Joining in the fun we had a purple patch with a few hard fighting rainbows snatching flies before displaying the notorious fighting spirit of the Foremark rainbows.

Later in the afternoon after things had died a little I passed a little time before the last 2 hours in Flamingo bay. This was a good call, producing another 8 fish to 4lb+ which I can only describe as blistering fishing, with the added bonus of taking my buzzers. Once mastering the art of buzzer fishing theres nothing quite like that Flyline slipping away before tightening into the fish - bingo!

April is a difficult month on the rivers so I do enjoy reservoir fishing, well until May when the rivers warm up, mind you, I've a Peacock membership this year and those wild rainbows sometimes play ball during April, appreciating the cold water a little more than our Derbyshire browns. Anyway get yourself to Foremark for a sensational session of bank fishing, obviously at very little expense.
